Dr. McGarry has spent >35 years doing basic and preclinical research, designing and developing animal care and use programs and facilities and providing research resources to colleagues and collaborators. While his own work has required sophisticated and demanding husbandry for survival of post radiation/hematopoietic stem cell engraftment in genetically altered and mutant rodents, he has also written and directed research protocols for colleagues using a number of species, as well as trained staff in the related technical and husbandry procedures.

This expertise places him in a unique position to provide assistance, insight and perspective to individuals, corporations and institutions as they develop state-of-the-art facilities, seek accreditation for existing programs or evolve research protocols and procedures. His style is collegial and affable, seeking excellence in all aspects affecting the success of programs and facilities.
